Program

SaxArt Festival offers an 8-day program of intense musical training and rich performance experiences in classical, etno and jazz, with professors: Marco Albonetti, Vincenzo Rapanà and Gianmaria Randi.

Performing guest artists will be Dane Richeson, ModernStrings, Daniele di Bonaventura, Francesco Colatorti.

Faenza is an elegant Roman city in North Central Italy, approximately 20 miles west of Ravenna in the heart of Romagna. Florence, Venice, Verona, Bologna and San Marino are easily accessible by train. Within reach of Faenza are two international airports in Bologna and Milan.

The program is open to undergraduates, graduates and qualified saxophone performers. Both individual performers and established quartets are encouraged to apply. The seminar emphasizes the saxophone music repertoire. Individual lessons, quartet lessons and group seminars are planned for the students in classical, jazz performances. Participants who wish to take part in these activities are encouraged to prepare works of their choice prior to their arrival in Faenza.

The program aims to prepare the students for a carrier in pubblic concerts. In 2011, a selected group of students will be performing live in the Romagna Region: Faenza, Tredozio, and Modigliana.
